Model Trains
The model represents the KVR during the height of its activity in the 1930’s a period of intense activity on the Okanagan Lake and on the rails of the KVR.
Upstairs, watch a scale model of the Kettle Valley Railway chug through Summerland.
A spectacular model of the Kettle Valley Railway winding it’s way through the exhibits in the upper floor of the museum and visitor centre. Free Admission. Donations appreciated.

Rail Trails
The Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail is one of the most iconic attractions in the Penticton area. The KVR Trail is a family friendly trail that is very well maintained and ideal for riders and walkers of any ability. It combines, spectacular views, tunnels, trestles, and lakeside sections.
Myra Canyon section of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail is one of the region’s most popular and scenic outdoor experiences. Designated a National Historic Site, this former railway route features 18 wooden trestle bridges, two rock tunnels, and dramatic canyon views, all accessible by foot, bike, or e-bike.
Whether your journey takes you along the beautiful shores of Kalamalka or Wood Lake in the northern section, or the vibrant urban sections in Kelowna, the Okanagan Rail Trail is an experience to be savoured.
The route traces traditional trading routes of the Okanagan First Nations, skirts lake edges, wanders through forests and hillsides, borders vineyards, fruit orchards, witnesses unique landscapes and connects all our valley communities.
